Swoof ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Sorting Decisions: Which photos you keep, trash, or add to albums — stored locally on
your device, never transmitted to our servers
- User Preferences: App settings, pinned albums, language preferences, subscription status
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, OS version, unique identifiers, app version
- Usage Data: Features used, session statistics, app performance, crash reports
- Analytics Data: Anonymous usage statistics via Firebase Analytics
1.3 Photo & Video Data — Important Information
Your photos and videos never leave your device.
- ✅ All photo processing happens on-device using Apple's Photos, Vision, and CoreLocation frameworks
- ✅ We do NOT upload, copy, or transmit your photos or videos to any server
- ✅ Duplicate detection, trip detection, and quality analysis run entirely on your device
- ✅ Deletions go through the standard iOS Photos "Recently Deleted" flow — fully reversible for 30 days
- ⚠️ Apple may process photo metadata according to its own privacy policy
1.4 Subscription and Payment Information
- Processed by Apple through the App Store
- We use Adapty SDK to manage subscription status
- We do NOT collect or store your payment card information
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Manage your subscription status
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
- Identify and fix bugs and technical issues
- Develop new features based on user behavior
- Send important updates and respond to support requests
3. Photo Library Permission
Swoof requires Full Access to your Photos library to function. This permission is used
exclusively to:
- Read your photos and videos so you can review them inside the app
- Move assets into albums you choose
- Send assets to the system "Recently Deleted" bin when you confirm a trash action
- Read burst identifiers and asset metadata to group duplicates and trips
You can revoke or change this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos →
Swoof.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google)
Adapty
Apple App Store and Photos Framework
- Processes payments and subscriptions
- Provides the Photos, Vision, and CoreLocation APIs used for on-device processing
- Privacy Policy
5. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- Sorting history, trashed-photo buffer, settings, and precomputed recommendations are stored locally on
your device via SwiftData
- This data is NOT synchronized to cloud servers
- You can delete this data by uninstalling the App
Security Measures
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) for third-party services
- Secure storage practices
- Regular security assessments
- Limited access to personal information
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your data.
We may share information only with:
- Service providers (Firebase, Adapty) who assist in operating the App
- Legal authorities when required by law
- Business partners in case of merger or acquisition (with notice)

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children. If you believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.
9. Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the App
- Analytics Data: Retained for 14–26 months (Firebase policy)
- Subscription Data: Retained as required for billing and legal compliance
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by:
- Posting the new policy in the App
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending a notification for material changes
